UTCFR is open to all faculty and students. In years past, a majority of the presenters have been undergraduate students with little to no experience, but we also hope to receive submissions from established scholars and graduate students. UTCFR is a fantastic avenue for all students to gain experience presenting at a conference. To assist those who are new to this experience, we have included several helpful tips below regarding presentation formats.
UTCFR has many openings for both oral and written presentations and accepts most submissions. If you have individual questions or need advice or assistance, feel free to contact the conference organizer at [email protected].

Presentation Formats
- Oral Presentation
- Oral presentations can be either individual or with multiple presenters and typically last 10-12 minutes. When presenting, please bring your own laptop. These presentations can cover research conducted with faculty or significant insights gained from writing a paper in a class. For instance, you may present a thorough literature review on a relevant topic, highlighting notable and significant insights.
- Research Poster
- Most posters will have dimensions of approximately 36-42" wide and 48-56" tall. We will provide an easel and tape for you to place your poster on our foamboard, which will be placed on the easel. If you are new to creating a poster, there is an excellent YouTube tutorial available that can guide you on how to make an outstanding poster. The poster session will last about 40 minutes and will give you an opportunity to stand next to your poster and explain it to attendees.
